I'm not feeling all that creative today so I'm turning in my bio from the studio I work at. I was feeling a little creative the day I wrote it so I
hope it suffices. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I would
like to thank all my teachers who are present with me at every moment. Everyone and anything can be your teacher. As my practice evolves, I seek stillness and
alignment to get away from the hectic hustle and bustle of Washington DC. Movement and externalization are great when you want to change or go somewhere,
especially when you're trying to get somewhere fast. Finding peace in oneself, accepting who you are and integrating is the practice I find most rewarding.
I practice what I teach and I teach what I practice--I learn as I seek and I have been fortunate to have sought out and learned from some of the most revered
experts practicing yoga today. It's no wonder yoga studios are cropping up everywhere like the coffee shops, frozen yogurt shops, nail salons, and cookie
stores that preceded them. As a culture we confuse what we do with having meaning, I prefer to turn that around and say it is "we" that bring meaning
to what we do. Yoga is more than a system of stretching and moving it is also a system of thinking states. In a good class I'd like to exercise all three.
Patanjali's writings were a lot more than just the asana (poses) of yoga; they are extensive in their thought, language and pursuit of health. I would like
to try and integrate positivity of thought, language and help spread the healthy states of mind and body one can achieve by practicing yoga. If in a class I
have balanced exercise, stretching and learning then I have instructed a good class. I like to pose questions and love receiving them in return. A favorite
class of mine to teach is Restorative yoga since Washington needs relaxation.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I also teach in a gym. As is
typical I was only given a bio of 50 words or less. this is it:
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yoga is a system of stretching,
moving and thinking states. I try to incorporate all 3 when I teach. One can exercise the mind and body in many ways but we come to yoga to integrate the many
facets of our lives. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The studio
I teach at is Yoga District--check us out: Yogadistrict.com The gym is Results the gym. It's a pretty cool place for a gym.
